TARA BROWN
From the time Tara completed her Bachelor of Arts (communication) degree at Bathurst in 1989 she has been in demand as a journalist. Her first job was in Channel Seven's Sydney newsroom. By June 1992, she had moved to the Nine Network where she worked at NIGHTLINE before joining the team at A CURRENT AFFAIR.
ACA is where Tara really shone. Her versatility was her skill. Some reporters investigate, some do human interest, some tackle hard-hitting interviews and others have a deft touch with the light and bright. Very rarely do you find a reporter who can do everything well. As an ACA reporter, Tara did the tough stories; exposed corruption, fought for consumer's rights and reported on political upheavals and international crises. She also reported the stories that made us smile -the quirky characters, human interest and interviews with Hollywood stars.
60 Minutes saw in Tara that rare ability to connect with people. They like her because she likes them. From the lowest to the loftiest she believes everyone is entitled to a fair hearing.
As well as A CURRENT AFFAIR, Tara has worked on election specials and hosted TODAY ON SATURDAY. Her talent and her absolute determination to find "and tell" the big stories makes her ideally suited to 60 Minutes.
