  • How's this for a diet? Fat okay. Red meat, not a problem. Sauces, cheese and cakes — you can eat to your heart's content. And it gets even better. Fancy a glass or two of wine to wash it all down? Go ahead, it’s good for you. What's more, this diet has been around for centuries, and it works. It's known as the French Paradox and it just defies logic. For some reason, the French thrive on this diet of rich food and wine and have lower rates of obesity and heart disease than Americans and Australians. And, of course, being French, it’s as much a matter of style as substance.
