Square Face Shape

Are you a square? Your face has a strong, broad jawline and forehead, with less distance between the temples and chin than other face types. This gives you a "compact" appearance.

Soften the edges of a square-shaped face by directing a soft, wavy fringe down over your temples. Long hair should fall to, or past shoulders. For a short style, keep the hairstyle round and soft with height at the crown. If going short cut above or below the jawline just not on it. Always insist on layers, not single-length styles or center partings. These will always draw attention to a square face rather than softening it. If pulled up, play with wisps of hair around the face.

As with all face shapes, your hair type will also determine the best style. If you have naturally curly or wavy hair, make it part of your style — your face shape is only the starting point for selecting a suitable hairstyle.
