Powder
When powdering focus on the T-zone. Avoid drier areas such as eyes and cheeks as powder can settle into tiny lines and make them more obvious.

For a heavenly candle-lit glow, look for foundation that flatters your skin but without any obvious shine.

Cheeks
For a natural-flush apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Smile into the mirror to make it easier for you to find them.

Sun damage
Ultraviolet light causes the skin to lose elasticity and become discoloured or wrinkled over time. Apparently 70 to 90 per cent of the changes in our skin as we age are the result of UV damage. Combat this by applying sunscreen to your face and chest.

Food for your skin
Eat food rich in antioxidants (Vitamins C and E, beta-carotene and certain minerals), such as bright-coloured fruit and veg, fish, nuts and seeds, to help fight the damage caused by free radicals.

Even skin
Use a primer on its own to create a more even-looking skin surface.

Light dusting
Bathing your face in powder will leave your skin looking fake. All you need is a light dusting and always remember to remove excess powder with a brush.
