QUESTION OF THE WEEK
 | "I know a lot of people pluck their eyebrows but I’m too scared to go near mine in case I muck them up. Have you any tips?"
| | I sure do.
Number 1: it’s a crime to overpluck your eyebrows. Quite a few years ago now, really thin brows were the fashion, but in the past few years you’ll have noticed more natural-looking brows have into favour. I still see girls all the time plucking the life out of their brows and I now think it ages the face, and looks really dated.
The most flattering eyebrow shape is a tidy version of your natural eyebrow shape. That means, removing all the strays from under the brow, particularly the brow bone, but leaving the basic shape in tact.
If you change your hair colour drastically, it’s also a good idea to change the shade of your eyebrows. But, never ever do it yourself. Leave that in the hands of a professional.
As for using eyebrow pencils, I can’t really see the point. Unless it’s really just to fill in an obvious irregularity in the growth or to darken extremely fair brows in a very natural way, eyebrow pencil usually only makes you look like your missing a blue rinse, and some clip-on earrings!
