 | I heard from a friend that when you have a red spot or pimple on your face you should look at applying green cover-up. Why is this and where do I get it from? |
 | It’s true that a touch of green colour corrector can help to camouflage a red spot or pimple. Why does it work? Remember the colour wheel that your art teacher showed you in class at school? Red and green are opposite on the colour wheel and, in effect, when applied together, cancel each other out.
If you’re covering only a small area, such as a blemish or pimple, apply your foundation first, then use a firm-bristled brush to dab on the green corrector. Then, do the same with your regular skin-toned concealer to cancel out any green-ness.
If you are prone to ruddy cheeks and wish to use the colour corrector to neutralise the effect, apply it BEFORE you use your foundation. You’ll need a base with light-to-medium coverage, blended with your fingers, over the top, to cancel out that 'seasick' look.
Maybelline, Physicians Formula, Chanel and Lancôme all make colour correctors (some produce colour-correction palettes, with everything you need for flawless skin), and they’re available from pharmacies and beauty store counters. |
