Beauty Q & Acosmetics
What's good for weekend make-up? I don't want to bare all — but I need a break from my heavy weekday look.

Don't you just love waking up on a Saturday or Sunday knowing you can sleep in and skip the usual one-hour beauty prep!? For the weekend, you only want a super-quick routine that will allow you some extra zzzzs — or cuddling — and still allow you to get to your brunch-with-friends date on time.

First of all, pull hair back into a chic, simple pony. Needs a wash but you can't be bothered? Fine — just tie on a cute kerchief. Or else, spritz on the new-to-Oz Klorane Dry Shampoo. This French wonder-spray literally soaks up scalp and strand grease to leave you with a fluffy, fresh-looking head of hair (find it cheap at pharmacies and Priceline stores).

Now, face step 1: base. No, I'm not talking your Monday-to-Friday foundation. It's time to let your skin breathe. But a girl's still gotta have a bit of coverage! Find your perfect base balance in a tinted moisturiser. You can either mix your own — equal parts day cream and liquid foundation — or else buy one of my absolute fave beauty products: Pond's Tinted Moisturiser. Mega-cheap and brilliant! It evens out skintone and gives you a dewy, glowing look.
Need some more wattage to that glow? (Okay, who doesn't after most Friday and Saturday nights?) Simply mix in some luminising lotion — either a pearly shade or a deep bronzed-babe hue. For this, I love the Revlon Skinlights Lotion numbers. Instant healthy complexion! Skip powder — it'll dull your glow — unless you have an oil-prone T-zone.

Complement your fresh-faced look with a little cheek colour. The look you want: like you've just been for a run in the park. To fake that healthy flush, smile so your "apples" pop out, then finger-blend into them a rosy gel or cream blush, such as Napoleon Barely Blushing.

Next, eyes. Just use your pinkie and dab lid with a creamy shimmery shadow — one that's subtle (not disco-ball-sparkle) but luminescent enough to enhance your overall gleam. Check out the line-up of Maybelline Cool Effect shadow tubes and crayons. My preferred shade: Chill the Champagne. As for lashes, if you have regular tints, go mascara-free; otherwise one slick of a defining mascara will suffice — try Lancôme Défincils.

Lastly, lips. Forget the power-pout and smear on one coat of berry gloss or tint — a suit-anyone look. I adore Poppy Shine in Maraschino and the L'Occitane Tinted Shea Butter in Redcurrant.

So, now you've got your Saturday or Sunday style set. Time for scrambled eggs and shopping!
