Beauty Q & Acosmetics
I was wondering how long should I keep and use cosmetics? Is there a used-by date?

You should always check the packaging of products to see what the manufacturers recommend and discard any cosmetics if you notice a change in colour, odour or appearance. You want to make sure you’re products are fresh, clean and free from bacteria as they will only clog your skin and create irritation if they are too old.

As a general rule:
- Foundation will stay fresh for one year after opening and three years if unopened.
- Powders, powder eye shadows and pencils generally stay fresh for 18 months.
- You should replace mascara and liquid eyeliners every three months.
- Lipstick will keep for three years.
