 | What's the best eye makeup remover for waterproof eyeliner and mascara? I have been using an oil-based one, but am becoming wary, as the skin is very delicate in this area, and I don't want to exacerbate any ageing or over stress the area.

 | Oil-based removers are actually the best way to remove longer-lasting eye make-up. But it's not just about the product you use – the technique is super-important and you need to be really gentle. Use a remover pad - or else a cotton pad soaked in your remover liquid - and fold over lashes. With the fold of the pad between your fingertips, work the mascara off using a gentle action to facilitate spreading of the product on the lash area only. Never rub over lids - dragging can lead to permanent lines. Simply pat and be patient. To get rid of any residue, use the cotton bud tip. My favourite eye makeup removers include Clinique Extremely Gentle, and The Body Shop Chamomile.
